Hana Mitchell
Film & Video Editor | Telly Award Winner | Emmy-Nominated Storyteller
Hana Mitchell is an award-winning Film and Video Editor with over 15 years of experience in video production. A Telly Award winner and Emmy-nominated editor, she is best known as the Co-Owner and exclusive editor at Impakt Studio, where her storytelling and technical mastery have shaped a diverse range of projects—from music videos and feature films to documentaries and broadcast content.
Hana’s journey into filmmaking began unexpectedly. As a teenager, a family friend who worked as a Set Designer invited her to join a production as a Production Assistant. That first experience sparked a lifelong passion for visual storytelling. Even after a brief detour working as a Stock Market floor runner, Hana’s creative instincts led her back to film—eventually studying at Columbia College Chicago, where she co-founded Impakt Studio.
Early in her career, Hana made her mark editing music videos for Grammy-nominated and Chicago-based artists. While these projects honed her sense of rhythm and emotion, her true passion lay in narrative storytelling. She soon transitioned into editing features, short films, and documentaries, where she became known for her ability to craft emotionally resonant and visually engaging stories.
Her work has been featured on Netflix, Amazon Prime, BET, and screened at major film festivals around the world. With nearly two decades of hands-on experience and dozens of projects to her name, Hana continues to bring precision, empathy, and artistry to every frame she touches.
What sets Hana apart is her deep commitment to storytelling. Whether editing a three-minute music video or a full-length feature, she brings a unique ability to transform raw footage into cohesive, powerful narratives. For Hana, the magic of filmmaking doesn’t just happen behind the camera—it happens in the edit bay, where stories truly come to life.
